The small Church in Unterbissingen is called St. Ulrich's.  It is the oldest building in the village. The Church's western part was built in the 13th or 14th century.

From the point of first settlement up to now, Unterbissingen has always maintained the catholic confession, despite changing lordships.

In the 16th century, the new Lord of Bissingen, a protestant, tried to make Unterbissingen a part of his sphere of influence. He was thrown out of the village in a quite violent way by the women of Unterbissingen. Since then, the women of Unterbissingen have had the honor to sit in the rows on the right side of the church. (Normally, it's the other way round).
